Diwali 2022 & the New Moon Eclipse in Scorpio

Diwali is an Indian holiday known as the Festival of Lights. It celebrates the spiritual triumph of good over evil; light over darkness; knowledge over ignorance. It falls on the New Moon when the sky is at its darkest point and celebrated with lit lamps, candles & lanterns symbolizing the Light in the darkness. ⁣

I first talked about it here last year as the date of the festival was significant to the astrological transits and kicking off last November/December Eclipse Season. There’s an element of this year’s event being connected to that eclipse season in some way too. ⁣

This year Diwali falls on October 24th, during the New Moon in Scorpio. This New Moon also happens to be the first of two eclipses this season. ⁣

The phase before a New Moon is the Balsamic or Dark Moon. It’s a time of introspection, shadow work; of allowing the eyes to adjust to the darkness to finally see what lurks in the stillness of the shadows. To see what’s happening behind the scenes. ⁣

This is a purgey time emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually. This is a time to clear out our systems, relationships, programs, inboxes, closets, behaviours: of things that are no longer in alignment with our destiny. Because eclipses bring fast moving and Divinely guided changes that need the decks cleared to manifest. ⁣

This is a holy time, and also a healing time. Take these last couple of days to observe, purge, and release with gratitude. Take in all the lessons you learned along the way. And most of all, take this as a time of quiet contemplation and prayer. ⁣

Have faith that no matter how dark and muddy and painful and overwhelming things may feel right now, Light always trumps Darkness. And Diwali falling on the exact same auspicious time this year just amplifies that. ⁣

This isn’t a time for manifestation, but rather one of resolutions & surrender:⁣

Resolve to show up in ways you can control. ⁣

Surrender to the ways you can’t. ⁣

It will all be illuminated soon. Have faith. ⁣

All is Well. ⁣
