Kun Faya Kun - Be, and it is

Ya girl here loves a nasty banger at the gym. The harder and more gangsta, the deeper the squats šŸ˜‚

But I also love other kinds of music.

Spotify is my spiritual travel guide through magical tunes from all genres to deliver me timely messages.

Try it sometime: ask God/Universe what do you need to hear right now, then hit shuffle play on a random playlist. Your heart will know if itā€™s a message for you.

Last year, this song found its way to me. Kun Faya Kun. I burst into tears the moment it started. I could pick out a few words here and there but I didnā€™t know what it was about. I had to know everything about it.

In true ADHD fashion I deep dove, studying lyrics, where it came from, etc. I mean, A.R. Rahman does not do a bad song ever (Taal anyone?!). But this song was so special.

You donā€™t have to be Muslim, Sikhi or Hindu to truly appreciate what a spiritual masterpiece it is.

This universal gem, Kun Faya Kun, is the epitome of faith in a song. Arabic for ā€œBe, and it isā€ comes from the Quran.

Kun Faya Kun.

Be, and it is.

You donā€™t have to worry or do anything. Just be. God/Universe/Spirit/Creator/Morgan Freeman has got you. Just BE.

He/They is powerful. Your thoughts and faith are powerful. You have the power of creation in your soul. In moments of powerlessness, you are powerful. Just BE. Your BElief is the superpower.

The necklace that I always wear is Arabic script that says just that. Kun Faya Kun. I wear it to remind me to have faith in moments of anxiety or pain.

Again you donā€™t have to understand the words (though they are truly breathtakingly beautiful). The energy of the song will fill you up.

One day, instead of listening to a guided meditation, pop this song into your earbuds and sit with your eyes closed and feel the beauty and love wash over you. Tell me if you cry too.

The internal and external world becomes increasingly shaky as unsustainable things break down to make way for Divine newness. In the inbetween moments, the voids, the beats before, the shadows dance; and it feels like anything could happen, especially the worst case scenario.

The free fall out the tower window can be disorienting and fearsome.

Keeping your faith louder on the stormiest sea helps to anchor your ship. This is just a ride: it seems scary, but you will make it to the best port, I promise you.

Kun Faya Kun. Be, and it is.

All is Well

Dedicated to my Great Grandfather, Shaheed KBT, who was a world renowned and powerful spreader of Faith in his life and died in service of this. He brought me this song then and he sat with me through this post todayšŸ¤
