Throwback to a piece I wrote Aug 8, 2018 on the other side of letting go of a really painful chapter. Felt appropriate to reshare today, on the other side of 8/8/2022

A nasty bitch
We are sticky creatures
We glob onto to desires, limiting beliefs, patterns of behaviour, expectations, traditions... all of which bind us in a prison of our own limited imagination. It holds us back from experiencing the true magic of what is written with full presence and gratitude.
So often we hold onto a twig when there’s a tree waiting to find our available hands.
Letting go of expectations:
1.) Thank the twig for existing.
2.) Exhale and put the twig down to fulfill what magic it’s meant to. What it couldn’t fulfill in your tightly gripped hands.
3.) Close your eyes, open your heart and your hand, and thank Divine for placing into your open hand exactly what is meant for you to receive in that moment. Don’t look. Don’t expect. Just be still. Know your hand will not remain empty for long if your open heart is full of only love.
This is the only way you will be free. By holding a twig not meant to be trapped in your hands, you risk breaking the precious twig and getting a splinter yourself.
The same practice for releasing attachments to limiting beliefs and patterns of behaviour applies.
These things hold us back from achieving what we are meant to. In essence, our limiting beliefs and harmful patterns of behaviour are merely just us, holding our own selves tightly in our own hand, stopping us from fulfilling the magic we are meant to. Risking breaking us and giving us a splinter ourselves in the process.
Open the hand that so tightly clings onto yourself, keeping you from flying. What you believe about yourself is untrue. What you believe about your capacity is untrue. You are far greater, far more capable, far more magical, that you can ever imagine.
Release your own grip on yourself, and free fall into the divine cloud that will guide you to accomplish what you’re meant to.
Either way, keep your heart clear and open and trust your magnificent divine intuition as your compass. Have faith. You may not know where you’ll end up, but you’ll be free, loved, and divinely guided.
